Welcome to the Brookline High School Program in Social Justice Leadership.
The Brookline High School Program in Social Justice Leadership trains a youth corps of social justice advocates and aims to nurture life-long leaders for social transformation. This program is for students interested in empowerment, conviction and the passion to build a better world. It's an opportunity for authentic education and experiential learning beyond the high school walls.
During the one year program, students grapple with the practices of social justice, identify global and local issues that they wish to devote themselves to, and learn how to organize for social change. The program emphasizes collective rather than individual responses to injustice, and transformative rather than temporary relief from social problems. Students are encouraged to gain confidence in their power as advocates for social justice and are supported to become more courageous to take a stand for change.
Participants attend weekly seminars, work as interns, interact with speakers and trainers and travel to the front lines of social justice work. Interested sophmores and juniors must apply during the winter for the following year.

Support Victims of Haiti Earthquake
No country in the Western hemisphere has been battered more than Haiti in the last 500 years--the nearly complete annihilation of its native population in about 2 decades, a brutal slave regime, foreign military interventions over hundreds of years, dictatorship supported by western powers, blockades of aid and more recently devastating hurricanes--and now the earthquake. Haitians are a strong and resilient people--they were the first country in the world to establish an independent republic by former slaves. Unfortuantely, the United States has often been on the side of Haitian dictators and not the poor majority. Let's help build a new Haiti. Please give to Partners In Health.
